PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
Worlds Apart is a world premiere musical full of romance and magic, telling the story of a brokenhearted songwriter whose life is uprooted by two ghosts who have lost their way. It takes place in Spokane Washington, in a small community theater, where the company’s pride and joy is performing the same campy musical many years in a row. There is mystery, love, lust, and hopelessness all intertwined throughout this wonderfully crafted masterpiece written by 2018 Kleban Award Winner, Christian Duhamel.

Presented by the Berklee Theater Arts Collaborative and under the direction of Berklee’s faculty-industry professionals, Worlds Apart features students enrolled in five of Berklee’s professional theater training courses: performance, orchestra, music direction, stage management, and tech.

Please note: This show includes scenes that cover topics of sexual assault, physical violence, domestic abuse, and suicide. This may not be appropriate for all audiences; viewer discretion is advised.

Over the past two decades, she has been embraced by a new generation of artists such as Janelle Monáe and Ariana Grande, amplifying the resilient singer/songwriter’s signature themes of personal and spiritual growth, social justice, and self-knowledge. Her willingness early on to challenge preconceived notions of beauty and sexuality coupled with her courage to defy broad racial and gender categorizations have helped empower current culturally-conscious movements.

Legendary artist Graham Nash is a two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee - with Crosby, Stills, and Nash and with the Hollies. He was also inducted twice into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame, as a solo artist and with CSN, and he is a GRAMMY Award winner.

Towering above virtually everything that Graham Nash has accomplished in his long and multi-faceted career, stands the litany of songs that he has written and introduced to the soundtrack of the past half-century. His remarkable body of work, beginning with his contributions to the Hollies opus from 1964 to ’68, including “Stop Stop Stop,” “On A Carousel,” and “Carrie Anne,” continues all the way to This Path Tonight (2016), his most recent solo album. Fifteen of his songs are celebrated in the 2018 release, Over the Years…, a 2-disc collection of some of Nash’s best-known works from the past 50 years and more than a dozen unreleased demos and mixes.

In recognition for his contributions as a musician and philanthropist, Nash was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) by Queen Elizabeth. While continually building his musical legacy, Nash is also an internationally renowned photographer and visual artist. With his photography, Nash has drawn honors including the New York Institute of Technology’s Arts & Technology Medal and Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters and the Hollywood Film Festival’s inaugural Hollywood Visionary Cyber Award. His work is collected in the book Eye to Eye: Photographs by Graham Nash; he curated others’ work in the volume Taking Aim: Unforgettable Rock ‘n’ Roll Photographs Selected by Graham Nash

Peter Bence is an internationally acclaimed virtuoso pianist, recording artist, composer, and producer who holds the Guinness World Record for being the “fastest piano player.” He has taken the internet by storm with his piano arrangements of Michael Jackson, Queen, and Sia, receiving more than 500 million views and a huge following on YouTube and Facebook over the past two years.

Bence features an edgy, percussive, and expressive playing style that breaks down boundaries between classical and popular music, inspiring younger and older generations. PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

Born in Toronto to Greek parents, Pavlo has made a name for himself by offering a musical amalgam he simply calls “Mediterranean music” – a blend of Greek, flamenco, Latin, and even Balkan flavors, wrapped in contemporary pop. Over the span of his 20-year career, Pavlo has shared the stage with music legends like José Feliciano, Jon Secada, Olivia Newton-John and The Tenors, and has performed for the likes of Prince Charles. As an award-winning recording artist, performer and songwriter, Pavlo has released 11 albums of his own music, and two collaborative projects, including 2015’s Guitarradas with Remigio Pereira, and 2009’s Trifecta with fellow guitar masters Rik Emmett and Oscar Lopez.

This show is part of Pavlo’s tour promoting his second PBS special “Live in Kastoria”, and he will also be performing music from his extensive catalog. As most of his fans are aware, Pavlo gives away the very guitar he performs with every night to a lucky audience member

$100 ticket includes a post-show Meet + Greet with Pavlo.
